MA Architectural Practice

The course will cover the discipline of academic research, including analytical processes, critical experimentation and syntheses, an examination of theoretical relationship and predication methodology. There will be a sustained programme of research of a theoretical and philosophical nature and you will identify and develop a framework of ideas to contribute to your own future practice.

You will be briefed on current issues affecting architectural practice, both nationally and internationally – codes, ethics and the construction professions; the role of design in construction procurement; the failure of architectural education – you may choose of these areas on which to base your dissertation.  You will also be able to discuss different subjects with the course director.
