Postgraduate Diploma / MA Landscape Studies
This course provides the opportunity to study landscape design at Masters level for students who are not seeking membership of the UK's Landscape Institute. It is envisaged that this may include those with overseas qualification and/or practice experience who intend to return to practice subsequent to MA study. It is assumed that a UK professional qualification will not be significant in such a practice environment.
The course offers:
Extensive staff practice and research background.
Potential to study landscape design from the European experience to Masters. level in a multi-cultural learning environment.
Opportunities to study topics of individual student's interest in landscape design.
Dedicated studio teaching space and extensive IT facilities.
The course is designed around the Major Design Project, an extensive four-module piece of work based on student selected project sites. This is augmented by four modules in:
Conceptual design studio
Project resolution and technology
Sustainable urban fringe landscape planning and design
A module delivered in two intensive one-week slots intended to develop student's creative design work and to offer a foreign field visit
These eight modules make up the Postgraduate Diploma. An MA Landscape Architecture is awarded on completion of a Dissertation equivalent to a further four modules.
This course is endorsed by the Landscape Institute. For further information about the Landscape Institute and careers in Landscape Architecture please visit their website - www.iwanttobealandscapearchitect.com
